The Godalming Youth Orchestra Autumn Concert 2017
The concert took place on Saturday 25th November at 3pm at Moss Lane School, featuring music by Bach, Bizet, Handel, Purcell and Sullivan. The orchestra was joined by some past and present members of the Godalming Operatic Society. It was a great experience for the orchestra to play with these accomplished singers and they rose to the occasion with fine performances of the solo, orchestral, and choral works to give a very enjoyable concert.

The Godalming Youth Orchestra Spring Concert 2017
The GYO Spring Concert took place at Moss Lane School, Godalming on 25th March at 3:00pm. We all enjoyed the orchestra producing a polished performance of music by Mozart, Curzon, Stone, and ABBA as well as a solo item played convincingly by the orchestra's leader.
Introducing the pieces, David Wright gave a tribute to David Stone who sadly passed away in December. David Stone composed two of the pieces (one specially for the orchestra) and arranged the Mozart and Curzon works played by the orchestra in the concert. During an important and illustrious career he composed and arranged many pieces for young musicians. David Stone was a great friend of the orchestra and would often attend its performances.
